Accessing Content over LBRY

From time to time, one might want or need to access content from LBRY instead of Odysee. Reasons include:

• Privacy
• Leveraging decentralization
• Odysee is down

This guide will hit the major beats of what you need to do to.

Install LBRY Desktop

The first step is to install LBRY Desktop, a client for interacting with the LBRY network. It can be acquired here: https://lbry.com/get

Once the application is installed, launch it and wait for it to complete first-time setup. This process may take a couple minutes.

Use the LBRY Links on GunCAD Index

The green button will attempt to download via the LBRY Desktop client

On GunCAD Index, releases will have a green button next to them that will automatically attempt to download via LBRY Desktop. Click that button to navigate to the release in the client, from which you can download the file.

Paste Odysee Links into the Search Bar

If you already have an Odysee link to some content you're trying to access, you can simply paste it into the search bar and the client will navigate to the claim just fine.
