What GunCAD Wiki Is

GunCAD Wiki is a DIY firearms knowledgebase. It catalogues:

How to make DIY firearms
- In the general sense, ex. how to print, how to bend flats, how to mill 80%s, etc.
How to tool up to make DIY firearms
- How to pick printers, what tools you need, what techniques to learn, where to do so, ventilation, etc.
Influential groups and people in the GunCAD community
- Release groups like Gatalog, BLC, etc., single users like Hoffman who've pushed the space forward

What GunCAD Wiki Isn't

Just as important is understanding what it isn't. It is not:

A list of all 3D-printable gun designs
- Use the GunCAD Index for that. We can't possibly maintain all those pages, and there's no reason to.
- Notable, high-profile designs can have their own pages if they are novel. For example, an article on the FGC-9 could have a section about lessons learned when designing for ECM barrels, or an article on the Hitchhiker about single-round open-bolts being kosher by the NFA.
A list of all 3D-printable gun authors
- Again, use the Index
- Notable authors can have their own pages, but again, they need to have pushed the space forward
A place to encourage people to break their local laws
- Under no circumstances should any article encourage or imply that users should act in violation of laws they're under.
- Likewise, admitting to committing felonies anywhere on the website is completely prohibited. You will be swiftly and permanently banned from contributing.
