Welcome to the GunCAD Wiki, a knowledgebase for the design, creation, maintenance, and culture of DIY firearms and accessories.
It is a subproject of the GunCAD Index, which you can visit at https://guncadindex.com.
New Around Here?
Before anything, users are encouraged to read About and Disclaimers. After that, here are some useful resources:
- Joining the Community
- Finding Tested Gun Designs
- Buying and Configuring a 3D Printer
- Choosing the Right Plastic
- Filing a Form 1 for a DIY suppressor or SBR
And these off-site links are useful for specific domain knowledge:
- The CTRL+Pew Getting Started Guide - If you're just getting started, you should read over this guide
- The Polymaker Wiki - Contains a ton of useful information about general printing practices and Polymaker's plastics
- 3D2A Wiki - A Reddit-safe wiki for /r/3d2a
Want to Contribute?
First of all, print a gun. You should have experience with DIY firearms firsthand before you push an edit. Once you've done that, here are some things you could do:
- Add a wanted article or a page for a wanted category
- Polish up some stub articles
- Create a guide
- Document some jargon in the glossary
- Write articles on notable designs
- If you're a manager for one, create a page for your release group and add it to this category
Please ensure articles are written according to GunCAD Wiki:Style Guide.
Have Questions?
If you wanna discuss an article, use its discussion page -- it's what they're there for. If you have a more general question, you should hit up the GunCAD Index Matrix Chat.
